Cricket World Records-Its all about creating history
by Ella Wilson
Who does not want to make records, as they give you immense happiness and make you proud of yourself, as well as the people you are connected with? However, creating records is not an easy task and especially, when you are a cricketer, as the game is associated with passion and dedication. Cricket world records are something every player and their die-hard fans are constantly striving for whenever they are in the field.
Cricket denotes thrill and action, and how can one forget the word “world record” that is associated with it. Cricket is full of thrilling moments and action scenes that are cherished by not only the fans but also the players throughout their lives. Whenever a tournament is about to begin, fans start pinning hopes on his or her favorite player, who has the chance of creating history. It has always been noticed that during an on going match, the player creates cricket world records. The players are so much engrossed and dedicated that every time they are on the field they want to either break older records or create new ones! As a result, the player gets huge success and becomes an important member of the team. The world of cricket is growing ever since it’s beginning.
The player’s fan list also grows in number as the player’s personal chart of runs grows. The crazy fans imitate all his actions and playing styles. Cricket is such a fantasy game that it makes fans and many people spell bound. There are specific web portals dedicated to the cricket world records that have been created by the player in the past. Cricket world records are something that helps cricket fans or the followers of the game to remain updated on his personality traits, career and personal life. These websites also show you the clips from the match that has created history! Sometimes the clips can show you the cricket world records. Any moment of the match is always interesting for cricket lovers.
As we are all aware of the fact that cricket world records are recorded separately for both one-day internationals and test matches, now we can expect these records to be recorded due to the introduction of the Twenty-twenty form of cricket. International Cricket Council is the chief body that maintains cricket world records separately. Cricket world records created by the player are maintained by the name of the player, his team name and various related information. Cricket world records are all about remembering the older records and cherishing new records. Whenever a player breaks an older record, then fans remember previous cricket player who made this record. Precisely, the new player who has made a record fascinates fans, as it is all his effort and hard work that has broken the older record. One can also come across the crazy fans that are in a habit to cut pages or the clippings of the players who have created a new record. Watching a tournament is always a fun loving experience for its fans. Hence, the cricket world records are a connection between the past and future.

A Cornish Surfer’s Perspective
by Hayes
Surfing to me is about a number of things - most importantly the enjoyment I get from it.
It is the pure love for surfing that drives me to get up on a cold and wet winter’s day at the crack of dawn & has made me the person I am. Surfing gives me the freedom from everyday life. It clears my mind of all worries, fears and problems, a place where I feel close to my childhood - remember having no worries, no issues?
I love the power of the ocean and the rush of pushing my boundaries, taking the largest wave, taking off little bit deeper, and the feeling of complete and utter helplessness as the waves roll and wash me along. It reminds me of my Dad throwing me in the air, completely weightless and helpless, going back to my childhood.
Nowadays it’s the buzz from making turns which I’ve always wanted to do and becoming as good as the people I’ve looked up to for years. I enjoy the pleasure others get from watching me and I love encouraging others to share my passion. I love surfing as much today as I did 10 years ago. Yes things have changed; nothing will ever stay the same. Like the way others perceive me, I am still the same surfer, I’ll always surf for fun, and it clears my mind, washes the world away and reminds me of my youth.
For me, it’s about having fun and enjoying the moment. The person that’s had the best surf is not necessarily the one who’s had the largest waves, done the best turns. Rather, it’s the surfer with the largest smile on his / her face; it’s the one that’s reliving their childhood, carefree in the moment.
People forget the reasons why they surf, forget what it means.
Surfing is relaxing, challenging spiritual and fun. Many of us are not fortunate to surf for a living and often I see people get frustrated with themselves and with others.
Getting to the standard I have reached is simply from surfing daily, it’s come from surfing and having fun. Catching the wave, waking up at godforsaken hours, surfing when its rubbish, waiting for the all-important wave.
All I have to say is “ Ask yourself why do you surf”, “why did you start”, Are you surfing for those reasons, for the right reasons or have you got lost in trying to be the next world champ.
Have fun, that’s what I say!

by Shannon Fermanian
Are you interested in boating? If so, you are not alone. This is an activity that thousands of people take part in every year. And of course, with the summer months on the way, boating is only going to heat up as each day goes by. But before you take to the water this summer, you need to make sure that you are fully prepared. After all, if it has been a few months so some upgrades may be needed.
You need to make sure that you have all the equipment that you need before you start boating this summer. If you already checked this, and you are in good shape, you can get started right away. But if you are like most, you will need to purchase some equipment or parts before summer gets into full swing.
The best way to find all the items you need is to get your hands on a boating accessories catalog. There are many boat surplus stores that make these catalogs available to anybody and everybody who is interested. Once you have a boating accessories catalog, you can start your search for whatever you need.
The great thing about buying from a boat surplus store is that you can get what you need at a price you can afford. Great Lakes Skipper, for example, is tailored to people looking for those hard to find boat gauges, panels, controls, or any boating supply part. They purchase large volumes of manufacturers closeouts, overstocks and obsolete parts and pass the significant savings on to you! And if they don't have the boat part you're looking for today, check back, they might have it tomorrow!
Buying parts and equipment from a boat surplus store is a great idea for anybody who is interested in boating – and finding a good marine surplus store like Great Lakes Skipper makes boating more affordable. Before you hit the water this summer, make sure that your boat is fully prepared. This will make for a more fun and safe experience.
Camping Gear
by Conroy Keight
When's the last time you went camping? Last week? Last summer? Maybe you haven't gone since you were a kid. No matter how much experience you have, camping is the ultimate outdoor adventure. The key to the perfect outdoor getaway, however, is having the right camping gear.
Treat every camping trip like it's your first, even if you've camped many times before. Your wilderness adventure can quickly turn to disastrous or even dangerous if you're not prepared for anything. To make your trip as safe and fun as possible, make a checklist of everything you need before you hit the trail. There are no corner stores in the forest, and no neighbors to provide those forgotten items.
Plan First, Pack Later
Rather than throwing together the necessities at the last minute, allow time to plan and pack. List all of the items you'll want and need, and don't forget to include those "just in case" items. Check each item on your list as you pack, and don't overlook anything. You have so many items to include; this is sometimes the only way to be sure that you've got all of your must-have camping necessities.
Gimme Shelter
One surefire way to turn a camping trip from paradise to purgatory is to pack shoddy bedding and poor shelter. You need to be warm, dry and comfortable when camping. Sleeping under the stars might seem romantic, until you find yourself exposed to rain, frost, insects or curious four-legged creatures that may visit during the night. Bring along proper shelter that will keep you safe and secure. Bring enough blankets to stay warm and for heavens sake, don't forget your pillow.
Bring Your Bare Necessities
Certain personal items are just as important at camp as they are at home. While you won't need things like mousse and makeup, you will most definitely need sun protection, insect repellant towels and, of course, toilet paper. Items like soap, toothbrush, shampoo and a hairbrush are also good to pack along. Keep toilet paper, towels and other personal care items in a waterproof bag.
Clothes
Pack a clean change of clothing for each day that you will be at camp, and then pack a few extra items. Camping can be dirty business, and those little surprises like rain and dust can mean an even bigger mess. If you have a supply of fresh water and a length of rope on hand, you can always wash and dry your laundry at camp. It's a lot easier, however, to just pack extra. The temperatures can drop dramatically at night, even during the hottest months, so bring along a couple of warm shirts, extra socks and long pants for those cool evenings by the campfire.
Medicine and First Aid
Smart campers assume that if anything can go wrong, it will. So, they pack accordingly. Follow this rule and pack up any medications and all first aid supplies that you may need at camp. Prescription medications, pain relief and vitamins are essentials. Those with allergies must bring an epi-pen or allergy relief medication. Remember to pack bandages, medicated ointment, a sharp outdoor knife and scissors. Everything should be packed into a waterproof bag and kept handy.
Cooking
Everything tastes better when cooked over a campfire. Just be sure that you have the essentials to prepare your outdoor gourmet feast. Pack a clean grill, metal spatula and tongs. Bring a bowl for mixing food, a cutting board, paper plates, cups, silverware, aluminum foil, dish soap and linens. If you have access to a good fishing spot where you're camping, make sure you pack a sharp filet knife and an iron frying pan. Most importantly, don't forget to bring garbage bags to clean up camp at the end of your stay.
You want to remember your outdoor adventure for all the right reasons, so plan ahead and pack carefully.
